The Martin’s | family session…

You might recognize Jennifer and Rolando from their maternity session and their handsome son, Joaquin, from his newborn session. 

 This time I got to photograph Jennifer, her new family and her family, including mom, Judy; father, Ross; bother, Kyle and his children, Julia and Joel. Even Oliver, the canine child, got to take a few photos. 

We shot in Lake Plumas near Marysville in an orchard and at the levee. I just love autumn light… It’s like honey….

Cranes…

I had my itty bitty’s with me as we were chasing down the last minutes of light and they were getting COLD. It was pretty crowded at the Sandhill Crane Preserve. I am going to head out again (earlier) this evening…

Dinner in the Cellar | event photography…

Saturday evening I was invited to shoot the Third Annual Wine Club Dinner in the Cellar for the Lange Twins Winery. It was a lot of fun!

The band was soooo AWESOME! Yes, the saxophonist, Jules Broussard, is playing two saxes at the same time….

The food was  catered by Wine Valley Catering. It was beautiful and the servers were hustling all night.

People laughing,  smiling and dancing the night away…. It was lovely…

Birthday bash…

Well thanks to my great friend, Lauren, and my sister, Katie, Maddie’s birthday went off without a hitch. The night before, I was sick as a dog. I felt 98% better in the morning. :)

We had a rock n’ roll birthday party. There was a guitar pinata, cereal box guitar projects, cupcakes from my friend, Heather’s bakery, Something Sweet Bakery in Galt.

It was a perfect five-year-old celebration. I swear she grew inches this week….

Three Sisters…

Pink October has come and gone. But it is important to remember that Breast Cancer strikes all year, all ages and to many families.

This family has been struck by the disease not once, not twice, not three times – but four. All three sisters have been effected by breast cancer and now their mother.

I work with Stephanie. I met Michelle through the Pink October calendar shoots last year. I met Kristine and her family Sunday at Jessie’s Grove. The weather was right. The light beautiful. It was great to see everyone.

More Joe…

I couldn’t resist another post. Today Joe played outside with Freckles and Lucy. I am just loven’ my (OUR) baby Joe!

Meet Joe (the) Boxer…

Today our family grew by one!

Meet Joe Boxer. He is our daughter’s and son’s birthday gift. He is eight weeks old.

As I blog this he is asleep on my lap. We looked online for puppies and found him via The Record. One the way home, Scott and I stopped at PetSmart and picked up puppy chow, a collar,  bed, and absorbent piddle pads. I brought the kids home and Maddie and Chase got  to meet him.

Chase- He stinks! Is his nose SUPPOSED to look like that?

Maddie- oh… he is so adorable. Will his tail grow?

 

Alicia + Gene + Ava | family session

I met  the Bakkum family in Midtown Sunday morning. Thank goodness we arrived at the same parking structure at the same time. I was so turned around, looked behind me and there they were ready to get capturing moments.

The wall above I couldn’t pass up. As I was lost trying to find the Crest Theater, I saw the wall and scribbled the location on my palm. I am glad I did…

Ava, six months, was an absolute princess! Mom and dad were pretty awesome too…

We wandered from Capitol Park and around the Midtown area…

I first met Alicia many, MANY moons ago as she was a college roommate of one of my best friends from high school. I met Gene a few years ago when I crashed on their couch before boarding a plane to visit the afore-mentioned friend to surprise her.

Almost 5…

Miss Maddie is turning 5 next week. And every year now, we take her yearly portraits. This year she is having a rock ‘n roll party. So she got to dress up a bit cool for her invite photos.

I love this photo… One Way… MY WAY! lol

She is always singing and playing her or her brother’s guitar. She loves music, which makes me very happy.
