Twinkle, Twinkle…

img_5133Finding awe in the little things. My daughter Maddie has a new fascination. The stars. Everynight “twinkle, twinkle” follows us as we go and pick up Chase from karate. We say goodnight to our heavenly friend. She loves the stars.

Twinkle, twinkle is actually Venus. But her fascination with the balls of gas burning hundreds of thousands away remind me of my love of stars. Growing up in a rural community, you walked out of the house and to the west was the McDonald’s sign and GHS football lights. Above were countless stars. I miss the coyotes howling in the night. And the crickets chirping along with the frogs. Once in a while I’d see the old barn owl flying around or see some bats.
