South Cakalakie- Day One…

My husband and I refer to South Carolina, his home state, affectionalty as South Cakalakie. He is from Spartenburg, in the hills of the Palmetto State. The last time we went was two years ago. It is too long between visis. He has a great family and it feels good to know that we will all get together one day and spend to eat, talk, play, and maybe eat a little more.

So we flew out on a red-eye from SFO and eventually landed in Charlotte. Dad, (Papa Gerald) picked us up from the airport. Scott and I took a nap and then it was time to see the family…
