Farm to Fork

My sister treated me to a farm tour and cooking class Saturday.

The Farm to Fork cooking class began at Golden Bear Ranches east of Lodi.

The Golden Bear Ranches is a beautiful, luscious ranch with so many tasty treats.

John Gibson, owner of the ranch, was so knowledge and amazing as he shared his love of heirloom tomatoes, herbs and stone fruits.

Here is a look at our farm tour…

We met the ranch chickens and roosters. We enjoyed the aromatics of micro basil and other herbs grown on site. F2F_IMG_6076

A walk through the orchards was amazing. We tasted the most flavorful nectarines, peaches and learned about Panache figs.F2F_IMG_6161

Afterwards we headed to Wine & Roses to cook up some of the goodies we received from the farm.

We rolled up our sleeves and got down to business. Chef John Hitchcock aided by his mother, Lorraine Hitchcock, taught us the delicious recipes.

My sister and I, with a couple of other ladies made creamy polenta with ratatouille. SO GOOOOD!

Others made crustini’s with fig and prosciutto. Others made a corn salad. Other a pasta with cherry tomatoes and mozzarella.

Everything was my favorite!

Thank you John from Golden Bear and John and Mom from Wine & Roses for an educational and amazing way to spend with my sister. It truly was one of the best birthday gifts I have ever had.

Happy eating y’all!
